PAST GOOD COMBOS.

I thought that even though I’m officially beginning my blog today I would post some of my past good combos.

THE BOROSSA + ADELAIDE = GOOD COMBOS!

1.

These good combos are from a journey I took with my grandfather to The Borossa Valley in South Australia.

South Australia is the land of big sky, not necessarily the big smoke.

I took this first one when we were driving to Maggie Beer’s pheasant farm for lunch. The second is of the pheasants on the water tank at the farm. I just like the combo of the big sky and the silhouetted birds.

My grandfather loves to eat and drink in equal order and so an adventure to the Borossa is always a real treat. We dined and drank to our hearts content. I even fell asleep in the car on the way home, just like when I was teeny.

2.

We had a snack at the Borossa Farmers markets. These little pasties were fresh out of the oven, so delicious. Whenever I go back home to Adelaide, I ALWAYS eat a pasty. Golden, flaky pastry housing diced spiced vegetables. Yes. Please. Adelaide is also not mean spirited when it comes to tomato sauce. They stab the pastry, shoving the nozzle into the steaming filling and they do not hold back.

I thought a fitting combo to my little parcels of flavour would be my grandfather Don and his partner Eileen…two little people, full of fun, warmth and after this excursion…vegetables.

3.

Ah, the grand combo of my two favourite pubs in Adelaide.

The interiors of The Benjamin on Franklin+

The exteriors of The Botanic.

= A perfect pub combo!

4.

The big blue. A bit of a cheat combo really. I just love the bigness and the blueness.
